One Million Lives Privacy Policy

Privacy Policies can be long and complicated, trying to cover every aspect of data protection. We encourage you to read this whole policy, and our Terms of Use too. But in case you are pressed for time, here is a quick summary.

1. Summary

What: When you use our services, we collect anonymous information that you voluntarily provide such as age range, gender, employment status, and answers to psychological questions, all of which is de-identified and which does not relate to an identified or identifiable natural person (defined as “Anonymous Information”). We do not intend to collect, and actively attempt to avoid collecting, any information from you that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person (defined as “Personal Data”).

Why: The Anonymous Information you voluntarily provide allows us to assess your mental health and make recommendations to you to improve your health. Sometimes we may combine some of the Anonymous Information with that of other users to do population health studies and improve our services.

On occasions where we use an aggregation of the Anonymous Information collected from users to do population health studies, we may report an overview of the findings back via media such as the One Million Lives website. These findings are intended to give insight in to mental health and how the general population is currently coping. Our aim is to break down the barriers that hinder honest conversations about mental health and encourage an open culture of support through knowledge sharing.

Where: In addition to processing Anonymous Information wherever you are located, we may also process Anonymous Information in other countries, including Australia, UK and the United States.

How: We collect Anonymous Information directly from you that you voluntarily provide through our website and mobile apps.

Who: We share Anonymous Information with our service providers and medical researchers but only to the extent necessary to provide our services. To the extent you voluntarily elect to provide Anonymous Information regarding the name of your employer, Jacobs may provide such Anonymous Information to the employer for the purpose of the employer to assess and improve the mental health of its workforce. Jacobs does not sell any information to any parties related to our One Million Lives services.

If the summary didn’t answer all your questions, please keep reading the full Privacy Policy.
